To study the genomic polymorphism associated to the adaptation of Escherichia coli to its environment. Using a genome-wide mutagenesis technique, compettive growth under different conditions and genomic macro-arrays, I explore the genes that are necessary for E. coli to grow in different pathologic environments (human urine and rabbit endocarditis). Eventually, I will try to integrate these genes in functional networks in order to proceed in the deciphering of the genetic links between commensalisms and pathogenicity in the E. coli species |
